The Government of Telangana is at the forefront of digital economy and promoting creative industries. In this context, we are organising a multistakeholder consultation on an Online Digital Gaming Code for Telangana, in partnership with SKOCH Development Foundation.

SKOCH has researched and published extensively on online gaming and responsible digital consumption for several years and has put together a comprehensive Discussion Paper that can be downloaded from https://skoch.org/discussion-papers/framework-for-regulating-online-gaming.

The consultation is scheduled for 17th May 2025 at T-Hub, Hyderabad. This consultation will bring together various key stakeholders from the Government of Telangana, face-to-face directly with entrepreneurs and founders from the industry to get structured inputs with the following objectives:

  • Comments and suggestions on the Discussion Paper (to be submitted by 30th April 2025).
  • Estimate of revenue loss to Government of Telangana on account of taxes foregone in online gaming.
  • Recommendations on providing responsibility guardrails to the citizens to protect them from socio-economic harm.

Stakeholders have been invited to participate and share their views on the paper and the proposed framework.

Please email your inputs on the paper and details of the person(s) from your organisation who would be participating, to the following emails by 30th April 2025: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; (from Government of Telangana).
